Pancreatogastrostomy after gastric partition
- Before the pancreatic anastomosis is carried out, partition of the stomach is performed: using 2 or 3 Endo-GIA staplers, gastric partition takes place along the greater curvature of the stomach about 3 cm from the border, resulting in two gastric segments.
- The small gastric segment of 10-15 cm in length is approximated to the pancreatic remnant and used for the anastomosis procedure.
- The pancreatogastrostomy can be performed using either a duct-to-mucosa or invagination technique, as described elsewhere.
