A gastrotomy with a size similar to the diameter of the pancreas is made in the mid-body posterior wall of the stomach. The pancreatic remnant is invaginated into the gastric lumen for 1-3 cm.

Two-layered invagination pancreatogastrostomy

  1. A gastrotomy with a size similar to the diameter of the pancreas is made in the mid-body posterior wall of the stomach.
  2. The pancreatic remnant is invaginated into the gastric lumen for 1-3 cm.
  3. The pancreatic stump is anastomosed to the posterior wall of the stomach with two-layer sutures: the outer layer is performed between the pancreatic capsule and seromuscular layer of the gastric wall; the inner layer is placed between the pancreatic cut margin and the full-thickness of the stomach wall.
